It is important to have an understanding of the real estate process that can sometimes be complex and overwhelming. To assist you in feeling more comfortable with the real estate process I am sharing real estate terms and their meaning. Straight note – A promissory note evidencing a loan in which “interest only” payments are made periodically during the term of the note, with the principal payment due in one lump sum upon maturity.

Hazard insurance – This provision of homeowners insurance covers damage by fire, wind or other disaster. Required by all lenders before loan approval.
