It is important to have an understanding of the real estate process that can sometimes be complex and overwhelming. To assist you in feeling more comfortable with the real estate process I am sharing real estate terms and their meaning. Real property – All land and appurtenances to land, including buildings, structures, fixtures, fences, and improvements erected upon or affixed to the same; excluding, however, growing crops.

Escrow account – An account that a lender or mortgage servicer establishes to hold funds for the payment of expenses such as homeowners insurance and property taxes. Also known as an impound account.
